My Heart Is Firm, Trusting In The Lord
March 22, 2020 2 CommentsConsidering these unstable times involving the coronavirus (COVID-19), may we consider together these following thoughts.
The coronavirus has and is affecting the lives of our children all the way to our senior population. It is affecting our churches, schools, economy, and businesses throughout our country. It is affecting how we connect with one another. It is affecting the mental and emotional health of many, leading many into panic, anxiety, and increased worry over attaining everyday items. Many of these things are understandable, BUT GOD!
We just posted a devotional on possessing a heart that is firm as it is trusting in the Lord. Please consider listening to it and allowing the Spirit of God to calm the raging seas. 1 Pet. 3:9 addresses the outcome of faith being the salvation of our souls. This faith (trust placed) in Jesus Christ is the only stability of our times as seen in Isa. 33:6.
Psa. 112:6-8 “For the righteous will never be moved; He will be remembered forever. 7 He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. 8 His heart is steady; he will not be afraid until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.”
It is so important that we do not turn to what our ears are hearing, and eyes are seeing that generate fear. This is not the spirit that the Lord has given to His people, 2Tim. 1:7. It’s a time to trust in the Lord, Prov. 3:5-6. There is healing and refreshment for those who stand in reverential awe over watching God at work in our midst.
- Zeph. 3:17 “The Lord your God is in your midst, a Mighty One who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love; He will exult over you with loud singing.”
- May we embrace the promises in Psa. 121:7-8 “The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life. 8 The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.”
Regardless of what occurs within our Country and around the world; we can go forward with great courage; without fear; without fret; and without a sweat. We are covered by the Blood of the Lamb and choosing once again to place our TRUST in God, Heb. 2:13, again and again. I pray that this poem ministers to you as it did to me as the Spirit shared it with my heart and meditations.
WE CAN TRUST IN GOD
When things are most difficult
When things are most bleak
When many look to others too fault
For their trial is at its peak
We can trust in God throughout
For it is He that we seek
For we know that He will be faithful
And through it, the meek He will teach
It is His Will that is best
It is His Plan that is divine
It is in His love that we find rest
And it is in His Son that we abide.
