comfort

On any day, comfort is very needed, but especially in these days.

One of the meanings of comfort in Hebrew, reflected by the verb[nacham], is the act of "breathing deeply." It can be the physical display of feeling sorrowful, but it can also express the compassion of someone who longs to comfort another or is in need of comfort themselves.

Out of compassion, may we come alongside (Greek:parakaleo) one another and take a "deep breath" in our prayers for each other. As we call upon the Lord for His Spirit, "The Comforter," to deeply comfort on the inside those in need.

This word was used by Ruth in speaking with Boaz when she said in Ruth 2:13 "... For you have comforted me and indeed have spoken kindly [as to her heart]..." as one who is warmed by a fire that is safely contained within a fireplace.

May this word of comfort, drawn upon from His inspired Word, comfort you, and may The Comforter warm and comfort your heart today.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
