My hope for everyone is that you are well during uncertain and challenging times. Times that have caused many of us to cancel or reschedule events, or at the very least make significant changes to what those events look like. Understandably, Options has received numerous inquiries regarding the annual Banquet Fundraiser which historically occurs in October. Like you, norms and what worked before are now set aside as we adjust and improvise in response to COVID-19. Again, as is the case for many, Options faces difficult decisions requiring flexibility and creativity.
Options' doors have been open throughout the past seven months, with the Lord continuing to work as only he can. During that time 12 women coming through those open doors chose life over abortion. Each is a testimony to the Lord's unmatched grace and love. Those victories strengthen the resolve while serving to humble us in knowing there are so many standing with the ministry. While it has become a pandemic catch phrase, I do believe it appropriate to say, "we are all in this together."
That leads to the question regarding the banquet, or better said the non-banquet as the 2020 event is now a COVID-casualty. The hope is that the Spring of 2021 will feature an environment where being together to celebrate works for all. In the absence of a live event, 2020 is featuring an online Web-A-Thon to celebrate life on October 24. This is not a truncated version of a live event, it is a presentation designed to inform, inspire, and ignite. Inform by sharing an inside look at Options, inspire by sharing both the vision and successes of the ministry, and ignite by having people prompted to pray, volunteer, and offer one-time and on-going financial support to the ministry.
We are asking as many as we can to join us for less than 30 minutes on Saturday, October 24 at 7pm. There will be subsequent opportunities for those unable to make it on Saturday night, with rebroadcasts being made available to all. Our hope is to see the event shared via Social Media, offering the opportunity to reach far more than the typical 150-200 banquet attendees. If you are willing and able to share this information with your church, as well as with family, friends, and social media buddies, please do so. In attempting to develop the best way to get the word out it made sense to reach out to you, to those who faithfully support Options in every sense of the word. Thank you for that, thank you for standing in support of life, and thank you for being a voice for the most defenseless among us.
