Psalm 127:1 – “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” ESV

Solomon was inspired by the Holy Spirit to pen this down, not because he could do it or keep it, but because he was getting it. He was understanding that life is to be lived according to the Designer’s design; a life lived outside of the Designer’s design just will not add up.

Today we have an eternal purpose. No matter what life holds, trusting in the Designer will allow us to discover for what purpose it was designed.

When the Lord is watching over the place in which He is working, those watching and laboring through prayer with Him, do not stay awake in vain. They grow in kindness, forgiveness, and understanding. They grow in their love for the Designer, Jesus Christ. They give His Name all the glory. Their home and dwelling place becomes His, and His strength and peace become theirs.

“My grace is sufficient for you” is in the present tense. His grace, with all that it freely provides for us in His Jesus, is sufficient for the moment, regardless of its intensity. We may not realize in the moment, but in time, we will come to realize the Designer used that moment for what it was designed to achieve.
