Mercy

Acts 2:22-24 [NKJV] — “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know 23 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; 24 whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death because it was not possible that He should be held by it.”

This week I have been prayerfully pondering the Lord’s Mercies, and I was led by the Spirit of God to the subject of “ lawless [godless] hands.” Taking a moment, I considered my own hands and the acts in which they have been involved over the years and which took a real part in why Jesus was crucified. It broke me, not because of condemnation, but because I am not condemned due to the merciful Hands of Jesus Christ that were nailed to the Cross on that amazing day.

I am so grateful and thankful to our Lord for His mercies as they are new at every moment and follow close behind us to clean up the godless acts of our past due to the shed Blood of Christ and Him crucified. Let's be forever thankful for His mercy that endures forever and praise Him! Because He was condemned in our stead, we are not condemned, and because it was impossible for death and the grave to restrain Him, He was raised up. Just so, it is true for us. Of this act of MERCY, we can be just as sure.

For remembrance…

Justice: God giving to us what we deserve.

Mercy: God withholding from us what we do deserve

Grace: God giving to us what we do not deserve.
