Shelter 400x400

1 Thessalonians 5:17 speaks of praying without ceasing. It could be expressed today as, “staying in touch with God’s heart at all times and abiding in the shelter of God’s heart.

It’s getting to know and understand God’s heart of love, compassion and concern towards us and others. It is about discovering a faith-confidence and in deep brokenness over His love for us, rolling over our burdens unto Him for we know that we can trust Him Who loves us.

As we pray, we discover in His heart, eternal treasures that are beyond price—yet, Christ paid the full price that all His treasures would become accessible to His people.

When we experience physical sickness or mental anguish, when we experience grief due to loss in this life, when our sorrows surface due to a deep, inner pain in which we can only groan for deliverance, may His Spirit lead us into prayer that we may get in touch with God’s heart.

Consider Isaiah 25:4 which says, “For You have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat; for the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall.”

As you read this, may He become your stronghold in your time of need, your shelter from the storm, and shade from the heat that you may be experiencing right now. So that the breath of the ruthless one finds itself coming against the wall of God’s Presence encompassing you.
